Writer Relocation has been helping families and businesses move across India since 2000. No franchises, no third-party handoffs — every move is handled by our own staff, in our own vehicles, with a supervisor on site.
Years
in Business
We started in 2000 with one truck and a few trained packers. The original idea was simple — people needed movers they could actually trust. Most moving companies at the time would quote one price over the phone and charge something entirely different on the day of the move. We decided to work differently.
From the start, we insisted on doing written surveys, giving fixed quotes, and handling every job ourselves. That meant slower growth early on because we could not take on more than our staff could handle. But it also meant that customers started calling us again when they moved the next time. And they referred their friends and family.
Over 25 years, that approach has helped us build a team of 35+ full-time staff, a fleet of 147+ vehicles, and offices in 10 cities. We have handled over 15,000 moves — from single-room bachelor shifts to full factory relocations. The fundamentals have not changed: fixed price, own staff, own vehicles, real accountability.
A lot of moving companies give you a price over the phone without seeing your home. We do not do that. Here is what actually happens when you contact us.
We call you back within 30 minutes to understand the basics — how many rooms, what city, and when.
A trained estimator visits your home, lists every item, notes fragile goods, and checks access routes — stairs, lifts, parking.
You receive a fixed written quote with a clear breakdown. No vague totals. You decide whether to proceed — no pressure.
Our packers arrive on time with all materials. A supervisor manages the job from start to loading. You do not need to supervise them.
We unload, place items in the correct rooms, and do a walkthrough with you before leaving. Any issue is noted and followed up.
Every move involves multiple roles. Here is who is actually on the job and what each person is responsible for.
Our packers are trained in material selection and technique. They know that a TV needs different wrapping than a bookshelf, and that a kitchen full of crockery requires a different approach than a bedroom. Each packer has done a minimum of 50 supervised moves before working independently. They bring all materials and do not rush — packing is treated as the most important part of the job.
Our drivers are not just vehicle operators — they are responsible for the cargo once the door closes. They know how to load a truck to distribute weight properly, how to strap items so nothing shifts during transit, and how to handle the vehicle on different road types. All drivers are licensed, police-verified, and have handled long-distance runs across India. They do not drive through the night without breaks on long routes.
Every job has a supervisor. They are the single point of contact between you and the team on move day. They brief the packers, oversee the inventory check, confirm the loading sequence with the driver, and are present at delivery to do the final walkthrough with you. If something does not look right, the supervisor addresses it before the team leaves. They also handle any paperwork including insurance documentation.
Packing materials matter. So does technique. And so does the attitude of the people handling your things.
We photograph every item of value before packing — furniture, appliances, artwork, and fragile goods. This creates a timestamped record that protects you and us if any dispute arises.
We do not reuse old cartons or torn bubble wrap. All materials used on your move are new. Boxes have full structural integrity. Fragile items get foam inserts, not just newspaper stuffing.
Every job we do comes with the option for transit insurance. We explain what it covers, what it excludes, and how to file a claim. This is not a last-minute upsell — it is part of the standard quote.
Your move is never passed to a contractor or partner. The team on day one is our team. The vehicle belongs to us. The driver answers to us. You are dealing with us at every point.
We are not the cheapest option in every city. We are not always the fastest to get on the phone. But here is what we are very consistent about.
After the survey, the price we quote is the price you pay. We do not add fuel surcharges, stair charges, or extra labour costs on the day of the move unless the scope of the job changes significantly from what was surveyed.
Every item that goes into a box or onto a truck is listed. You get a copy of the inventory. When we deliver, we check off the list with you. If a box is missing, we know immediately — and we track it down.
Our 10 city branches are our own offices — not franchise operators or local agents. When you call the Hyderabad number, you reach the Hyderabad team. The Bengaluru branch runs operations out of Koramangala. This means real accountability at every location.
A large portion of our bookings come from people who have moved with us before or were referred by someone who did. We do not track this formally, but our enquiry team hears it regularly. That is the most honest measure we have of how the work actually went.
Writer Relocation has been operating since 2000 — more than 25 years. We started with a small team in Mumbai and have grown to branches in 10 cities across India, completing over 15,000 relocations in that time.
Yes. Every packer, driver, and supervisor goes through police verification before joining. They also go through internal training on packing technique, fragile item handling, customer communication, and safety procedures. This is not optional — it is standard practice for everyone on staff.
No. All moves are handled entirely by Writer Relocation staff using our own vehicles. We do not pass your job to unknown third-party operators. Every person who comes to your door is our direct employee, and every vehicle used is registered and maintained by us.
We photograph all items before packing and do a condition check at delivery. Any damage claim is handled through the transit insurance we arrange on your behalf. We have a straightforward claim process — the supervisor documents the issue, you receive the claim form, and we follow up on resolution with the insurer.
Yes. We do not give quotes over the phone without seeing the job. After the free home survey, you receive a written quote with a fixed total. That is the price you pay — no additions for fuel, labour, or distance unless the scope of the move changes substantially from what we surveyed.
